Behind the Wick - Meet the Makers
The Story Behind Rider’s Storm
When Michael set out to create his first-ever scent, his inspiration was simple but powerful: make it good. As a newcomer to the art of scent creation, he was driven by the desire to contribute something meaningful to Cressa Candles. He also carried a quiet fear: don’t mess this up.
But something magical happened when he began. As Michael started exploring different fragrances, one scent stood out—a spark that ignited the creative process. There was a feeling he couldn’t quite put into words, but it was undeniable. That first note became the foundation for Rider’s Storm. The finished scent washes over him even now, evoking memories of simpler, safer times. It’s a fragrance that calms the soul, offering a moment of serenity when life becomes chaotic.
The Creative Process
Building on that first scent, Michael carefully selected additional notes like pieces of a perfect puzzle. Despite the pressure, he didn’t overthink the process; instead, he trusted his instincts, letting his hands guide him toward a harmonious blend. Each addition felt natural, as though the fragrance was coming to life on its own.
Once the scent was finalized, Briar stepped in to complete the creation. With the addition of shimmering mica powder and carefully chosen colorants, the wax took on the signature look that defines the entire collection. And just like that, Rider’s Storm was born—a testament to intuition, trust, and the beauty of simplicity.
